Best silk pillowcase 2026: 10 brands compared, in euros and European sizes
The Journal dims after 9 pm. The moon, bottom right, changes that.
Ten silk pillowcases sold in Europe, side by side: euro prices in 50x70 and 65x65 cm, momme, closure, returns and OEKO-TEX number, from each brand's own product page.
In short: a US Queen pillowcase measures 51x76 cm. A European pillow is 50x70 or 65x65 cm: the Queen hangs 6 cm past the first and doesn't fit the second. So this comparison counts in centimetres and euros. We checked ten silk pillowcases sold in Europe on each brand's own page, from 29 September to 4 October 2026. In 50x70 cm, seven brands sell the exact size, from €55 (Silksilky, on sale, and its page excludes sale items from returns) to €75 (Emily's Pillow). In 65x65 cm, eight: €59 to €79, plus Slip at €131. Same stated weight, 22 momme, and prices from €55 (50x70 cm) to €131 (65x65 cm): momme doesn't explain the price. Of the nine returns policies we read, only Elen Loré's takes back a pillowcase you have slept on. Only two brands show their OEKO-TEX certificate number.
Silk pillowcase listings look alike: “100% mulberry silk”, “grade 6A”, “OEKO-TEX”. What sets them apart is in the details: size, weight, closure, return conditions. We put them side by side.
First, to be clear: we are preparing our own silk pillowcase; it isn't out yet, and it isn't in this table. And we haven't tested these pillowcases: the table compares what each brand states, and every row can be checked in one click.
The verdict, need by need
No pillowcase wins on everything. Each pick below comes from a column of the table (checked on 29 September 2026; for Slip, on 2 and 4 October 2026; for Silksilky's prices, on 4 October 2026) and comes with its condition. Elen Loré's sale price was checked again on 2 October 2026: €59, was €79.
- Cheapest in 50x70 cm: Silksilky, €55, on sale on its French store on 4 October 2026 (was €74.99); but its product page excludes sale items from returns. With a return possible, Elen Loré, €59 while its sale lasts. At full price, Maison de la Soie, €62.
- Cheapest in 65x65 cm: Elen Loré, €59 on sale. At full price, Maison de la Soie, €69.
- Returnable after use: Elen Loré, the only one that says so among the nine returns policies we read (Slip's was not checked). Its “90-night trial” takes back a pillowcase you have slept on, on four conditions: at least 14 nights of use, clean and hand-washed, in its original packaging, and one return per household per year. Its customer service must agree first. You get store credit, or a refund to your original payment method minus a €15 fee; return postage is yours to pay. These conditions come from its returns policy, read on 29 September 2026.
- OEKO-TEX number published: Emily's Pillow (21.HCN.67919) and Blissy (23.HCN.63145), which sells neither 50x70 nor 65x65 cm. We haven't checked these two numbers on Label Check yet. Seven other brands state OEKO-TEX without showing a number: ask for it before you buy. Slip's product pages don't mention OEKO-TEX.
- No zip, no metal part: Maison de la Soie (wallet flap), Lilysilk and Silksilky (envelope), in both 50x70 and 65x65 cm. Chillsilk, Eversilk and Blissy don't state their closure.
- US sizes: best avoided on a French pillow. On a 50x70 cm pillow, a Standard case (51x66 cm) is 4 cm too short and a Queen (51x76 cm) 6 cm too long. None fits a 65x65 cm pillow. Blissy sells neither 50x70 nor 65x65 cm; Dore & Rose sells a 50x75 cm, 5 cm too long. For Silksilky, use its French store: on 29 September 2026, its international store sold this pillowcase in US sizes.
Comparison: ten silk pillowcases, checked from 29 September to 4 October 2026
Prices are those shown on 29 September 2026 to a visitor in France, tax included, for a single pillowcase in a plain colour. When a brand doesn't sell a size, we give the closest one. Two brands are exceptions. Slip, added on 4 October 2026: its prices are those of its European store (slipsilkpillowcase.eu), in euros, for its zipped pillowcases in a plain colour: the Queen (51x76 cm), checked on 2 October 2026, and the 65x65 cm, sold as “Euro”, checked on 4 October 2026. Silksilky: its prices are those of its French store (fr.silksilky.com), checked on 4 October 2026; on 29 September, we had checked it on its international store, which sold it in US sizes.

- Sales. Elen Loré and Dore & Rose showed reduced prices that day: €79 and €68 at full price. On 4 October 2026, Slip had two other 65x65 cm pillowcases on sale: “Spring Paisley” (slip x alice + olivia collection), €72 instead of €135, and “Wildflower”, €91.70 instead of €131. The same day, Silksilky had its pillowcase on sale in every size, and its product page states, under “Retours & échanges sous 365 jours”: “Remarque : Ni Retour ni Échange pour les Articles Soldés et Intimes.” (“Note: no return or exchange for sale and intimate items.”)
- Sizes. Blissy sells US sizes (Standard 51x66 cm, Queen 51x76 cm), Dore & Rose a 50x75 cm. On its French store, Silksilky sells the 50x70 cm, the 65x65 cm and seven other sizes (checked on 4 October 2026); on its international store, where we checked it on 29 September 2026, it sold this pillowcase in US sizes (€46.95 in 51x66 cm, €53.95 in 51x76 cm). On its European store, Slip sells the Queen (51x76 cm) and the 65x65 cm, plus a 50x60 cm at €120, but no 50x70 cm (checked on 4 October 2026). Maison de la Soie and Lilysilk also offer other sizes (60x60, 50x75…), at other prices.
- Variants. Emily's Pillow sells its printed pillowcases at €79. Maison de la Soie also sells a frilled version, at a higher price. Chillsilk has a made-in-France version at €80, in 65x65 only.
What the table shows
For a 50x70 cm pillow
Seven brands sell the exact size. The cheapest is Silksilky, at €55 (on sale on its French store on 4 October 2026, was €74.99), but its product page excludes sale items from returns. Next comes Elen Loré, at €59 on 29 September 2026 while its sale lasts (€79 otherwise), then Maison de la Soie at €62. The most expensive, Emily's Pillow, at €75.
For a 65x65 cm square pillow
Eight brands: the seven that sell 50x70, from €59 (Elen Loré, on sale) to €79 (Lilysilk), and Slip, at €131 (checked on 4 October 2026), the highest price in the table. Of the seven, four sell 50x70 and 65x65 at the same price: Chillsilk, Eversilk, Emily's Pillow and Elen Loré. Maison de la Soie, Lilysilk and Silksilky (€69, on sale) charge more for the square.
US sizes
Blissy and Dore & Rose don't sell the French sizes. Slip sells the 65x65 cm but not the 50x70 cm: its Queen (51x76 cm), at €118, is a US size. Silksilky sells both French sizes on its French store, but its international store sold this pillowcase in US sizes on 29 September 2026: check which store you are on before you order. On a 50x70 cm pillow, a Standard case (51x66 cm) is 4 cm too short, a Queen (51x76 cm) 6 cm too long, and a 50x75 cm 5 cm too long. None fits a 65x65 cm pillow. The details are in our guide to pillowcase sizes.
Momme
From 19 momme (Chillsilk) to 23 momme (Elen Loré), with seven of the ten at 22 momme, Slip's included. Dore & Rose doesn't state it.
Returns
From 14 days (Chillsilk, Lilysilk) to 100 days (Dore & Rose), at the eight brands other than Silksilky whose returns policy we read; Slip's was not checked. Silksilky shows 365 days, but excludes sale items from returns, and its pillowcase is on sale as of 4 October 2026 (see the sales note under the table). The conditions matter as much as the length: most brands require an unused pillowcase, sometimes unwashed. Elen Loré stands out: its “90-night trial” lets you return a pillowcase you have slept on, with conditions.
OEKO-TEX
Nine of the ten brands state OEKO-TEX; Slip's product pages don't mention it. Only two show their certificate number on the product page: Emily's Pillow and Blissy. Without a number, the label can't be checked: ask for it before you buy. How to check is below.
Sources: each brand's product pages and return policies, checked on 29 September 2026; for Slip, the product pages on its European store, checked on 2 and 4 October 2026 (its returns policy was not checked); for Silksilky's prices, the product page on its French store, checked on 4 October 2026. The features are those each brand states; prices may have changed since. If a row is wrong, write to us and we will correct it.
How much should a silk pillowcase cost?
In our table, a 50x70 or 65x65 cm silk pillowcase costs €55 to €79 at the seven brands that sell both sizes, and €131 at Slip, in 65x65 cm. Weight doesn't explain the gap: among the pillowcases stated as 22 momme, prices run from €55 (Silksilky, on sale, 50x70 cm) to €131 (Slip, 65x65 cm); in 65x65 cm alone, from €69 to €131.
If you want one that won't break the bank, look at Amazon. On 21 July 2026, on Amazon.fr, we found mulberry silk pillowcases of 19 to 22 momme, with an OEKO-TEX number shown, from €20.35 to €28.99. We didn't record their sizes or return terms, so check both, as with any other.
Before the price, three things can be checked on the product page: the exact size of your pillow, what the brand takes back (an unused pillowcase, or one you have slept on), and the certificate number.
What a silk pillowcase does, and what no study shows
Product pages promise a lot. Here is what we found in the published research.
- Morning creases. A 2016 paper (Anson, Kane and Lambros, Aesthetic Surgery Journal) describes sleep wrinkles as mechanical: “compression, shear, and stress forces act on the face in lateral or prone sleep positions”. A smoother pillowcase can only act on shear, the part where skin drags on the fabric. It doesn't change how hard your face presses into the pillow.
- Wrinkles. We found no study comparing a silk pillowcase with a cotton one on wrinkles (Europe PMC search, July 2026).
- Hair. A 2026 narrative review on afro-textured hair, written as recommendations for dermatologists, cites “the use of silk head scarves and pillowcases during sleep”. Its references are reviews and practice guides, not a trial, and it covers afro-textured hair only.
The full picture, with the studies: silk benefits for skin and hair.
Silk or satin: what the label says
Satin isn't a fibre: it's a weave that gives a smooth, shiny face, and it can be made of polyester. A “satin” pillowcase is not necessarily a silk one.
In Europe, “silk” names a fibre, and EU Regulation 1007/2011 reserves that name for the fibre of silkworms. On a product page, look for the composition, not the look: “100% silk”, ideally “mulberry”. The law and the traps in listings are covered in our article on “ice silk”.
Which momme for a pillowcase?
No standard sets a momme per type of item: it's a unit of weight, not a label. On a pillowcase, weight mostly affects how it stands up to washing: a denser fabric copes better, a lighter one marks sooner.
In our check, 22 momme clearly dominates. To choose between 19, 22, 25 and 30 momme: what momme changes.
Zip, envelope or wallet closure
Three closures come up on the product pages:
- The invisible zip (Emily's Pillow, Elen Loré, Dore & Rose, Slip): the pillow can't slip out. Elen Loré recommends a laundry bag to protect the zip.
- The envelope (Silksilky, Lilysilk): an inner flap, with no metal part. Lilysilk presents its side opening as handy if you sleep with your hands under the pillow.
- The wallet flap (Maison de la Soie): the same idea, a flap that tucks under the fabric.
Chillsilk, Eversilk and Blissy don't state the closure on their product page.
Checking an OEKO-TEX certificate
An OEKO-TEX label can be checked online. On Label Check, OEKO-TEX's official tool, enter the certificate number, then look at two things:
- its expiry date;
- the items it covers: a certificate applies to a specific list of products, so check that the pillowcase is on it.
If the product page shows no number, ask customer service for it before you buy.
Washing a silk pillowcase
By hand, in water at 30 °C at most, or in the machine on a delicate cycle at 30 °C, in a laundry bag, with an enzyme-free detergent and a minimal spin. Then dry flat, away from sunlight and radiators. The full method, pillowcases included: how to wash silk.
What a pillowcase can't fix: the light
A pillowcase deals with what your face lies on. It can do nothing about the streetlight or the dawn coming through the blinds. That's a sleep mask's job: it stops the light at your eyes.
For now, it's the only thing we make:
- 22 momme mulberry silk on both sides; the silk comes from an OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified producer;
- a soft 12 mm dome over the eyes, designed not to touch your lashes;
- a silk-covered strap, no buckle and no Velcro, one size;
- delivered in its case, with a silk pouch.
€48 in France and the EU, or €86 for two with the Duo offer; outside the EU, the product page shows the price in your currency. Free delivery in France; €14.99 to other EU countries.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best silk pillowcase?
None wins on everything: it depends on what matters to you. In our check, the cheapest in 50x70 cm is Silksilky, at €55 on sale on its French store on 4 October 2026, but its product page excludes sale items from returns; next comes Elen Loré, at €59 on sale on 29 September 2026, also the cheapest in 65x65 cm; at full price, Maison de la Soie (€62 and €69). Elen Loré is also the only brand, among the returns policies we read, that says it takes back a pillowcase you have slept on, with conditions (including at least 14 nights of use and hand-washing). Emily's Pillow and Blissy publish an OEKO-TEX certificate number, which we haven't checked yet. In 50x70 and 65x65 cm, Maison de la Soie, Lilysilk and Silksilky close without a zip. On a European pillow, avoid US sizes: they match neither 50x70 nor 65x65 cm.
How much should a silk pillowcase cost?
In our check, €55 to €79 for a 50x70 or 65x65 cm pillowcase at the seven brands that sell both sizes. The lowest, €55, is Silksilky's 50x70 cm pillowcase, on sale on 4 October 2026: its product page excludes sale items from returns. The six others ranged from €59 to €79 on 29 September 2026. Slip, checked on 4 October 2026, sells its 65x65 cm pillowcase at €131, the highest price in our table; it doesn't sell 50x70 cm.
What is the best cheap silk pillowcase?
In our table, the cheapest in 50x70 cm is Silksilky, at €55 on sale on 4 October 2026, and its product page excludes sale items from returns. With a return possible, Elen Loré, at €59 on sale, in both 50x70 and 65x65 cm. At full price, Maison de la Soie, at €62 in 50x70 cm and €69 in 65x65 cm. Cheaper still, on 21 July 2026 Amazon.fr listed mulberry silk pillowcases of 19 to 22 momme, with an OEKO-TEX number shown, from €20.35 to €28.99: check their size and return terms.
Which silk pillowcase brands sell European sizes?
In our check, seven sell 50x70 cm: Silksilky (on its French store), Elen Loré, Maison de la Soie, Lilysilk, Eversilk, Chillsilk and Emily's Pillow. Those seven and Slip also sell 65x65 cm. Blissy and Dore & Rose sell neither.
What momme is best for a silk pillowcase?
No standard sets a momme per type of item. The pillowcases we checked range from 19 to 23 momme, and seven of the ten are 22 momme, the most common weight.
Satin or silk pillowcase: what's the difference?
Satin is a weave, not a fibre, and it can be polyester. Only the word “silk” names the fibre: EU Regulation 1007/2011 governs its use. Check the composition on the product page: 100% silk.
Does a silk pillowcase prevent wrinkles?
We found no study showing it (Europe PMC search, July 2026). A 2016 paper describes sleep wrinkles as mechanical: compression, shear and stress on the face when you sleep on your side or front. A smooth pillowcase only acts on shear, where skin drags on the fabric, not on how hard your face presses into the pillow.
Is a silk pillowcase good for your hair?
A 2026 review on afro-textured hair, written for dermatologists, highlights the use of silk head scarves and pillowcases during sleep. That point rests on reviews and practice guides, not on a trial, and it applies to afro-textured hair only.
Do US pillowcase sizes fit European pillows?
Not exactly. On a 50x70 cm pillow, a Standard case (51x66 cm) is 4 cm too short and a Queen (51x76 cm) is 6 cm too long. Neither fits a 65x65 cm pillow.
How do I check a silk pillowcase's OEKO-TEX label?
Enter the certificate number on Label Check, OEKO-TEX's official tool, then check its expiry date and the items it covers. In our check, two brands out of ten show that number on their product page.
What changed on this page
- 29 September 2026: the nine pillowcases checked (price in 50x70 and 65x65 cm, momme, closure, returns, OEKO-TEX certificate) on each brand's product page and returns policy.
- 30 September 2026: OEKO-TEX wording for the Noctya mask clarified (silk from a certified producer); note added at the top: we are preparing our own silk pillowcase, which is not in the table.
- 2 October 2026: a verdict by need added at the top of the page (cheapest in 50x70 and 65x65 cm, returning a used pillowcase, published OEKO-TEX numbers, closures without a zip, US sizes), drawn from the columns of the 29 September check; the conditions of Elen Loré's trial come from its returns policy, read the same day. Answer to “What is the best silk pillowcase?” updated. The table has not changed.
- 4 October 2026: Slip added to the table, which goes from nine to ten pillowcases: its white Queen pillowcase (51x76 cm) with an invisible zip, 22 momme, €118.00, checked on 2 October 2026 on its European store (slipsilkpillowcase.eu), and its 65x65 cm (“Euro”) pillowcase with an invisible zip, €131.00 in a plain colour, checked on 4 October 2026 on the same store, which doesn't sell 50x70 cm. Its product pages don't mention OEKO-TEX; its returns policy was not checked, so that cell says “not stated”. Title, summary, verdict, analysis and FAQ updated accordingly (ten pillowcases, seven at 22 momme, €59 to €131 in 65x65 cm).
- 4 October 2026: Silksilky checked again, on its French store (fr.silksilky.com): the same envelope pillowcase is sold there in 50x70 cm, at €55.00 (was €74.99), and in 65x65 cm, at €69.00 (was €91.99), on sale in every size; its product page states: “Remarque : Ni Retour ni Échange pour les Articles Soldés et Intimes.” (“Note: no return or exchange for sale and intimate items.”) On 29 September, we had checked it on its international store, which sold it in US sizes. Its row in the table, the summary, the verdict (cheapest in 50x70 cm, closures without a zip, US sizes), the analysis and two FAQ answers are corrected: seven brands sell 50x70 cm, eight sell 65x65 cm, two sell neither French size; leaving Silksilky aside, returns run from 14 to 100 days.
- November 2026: page rewritten. New sections on price (including an Amazon.fr check of 21 July 2026) and on what the research says; four questions added; the Noctya mask section updated. The table has not changed: its prices are still those checked from 29 September to 4 October 2026.
Prices change: check them on the brand's page before you buy. If a row is wrong, write to us.
