IMaterial

The exactness of density.

Below that, silk wrinkles, tears, transfers heat. Above it, it becomes heavy. 22 momme is the exact tension between softness and durability. Its protein structure is close to human skin, near-zero friction, selected to hold up through a thousand nights without giving.

A weave, not a material.

A "satin" mask is almost always synthetic polyester — warm, electrostatic, and rough at the fibre level. Mulberry silk is a natural protein, thermoregulating, near-zero friction. The difference isn't visible. You feel it on the first night.

A protein against skin.

Its protein structure is close to human skin. Near-zero friction. No synthetic chemicals. Recommended for reactive skin, active treatments, and post-care evenings. The eye contour is the thinnest skin on your face — exactly where silk makes sense.

Friction is what breaks hair.

It breaks hair, creates frizz, damages lengths. Mulberry silk reduces that friction to almost nothing. A lesser-known benefit — real — that turns every night into passive hair care.

IIThe night

Sufficient darkness, not absolute black.

The kind of darkness the brain reads as total: that is when the sleep mechanism kicks in. The Noctya mask creates that condition: gentle, stable darkness, no pressure on the eyelids. Put it on. Your body does the rest.

A strap that disappears.

The flat strap on the Noctya doesn't buckle, doesn't pinch, doesn't leave marks in the morning. It adapts to all face shapes — on your back, on your side, in motion. Its job is to disappear. When you stop thinking about the mask, you're asleep.

One size, by design.

The mask covers the eye area comfortably without creating pressure. The flat elastic strap fits the vast majority of adult head sizes, men or women, side or back sleepers. If in doubt: returns are open for 14 days after receipt, unworn item.

The night, away from home.

Plane, train, hotel: the Noctya mask is designed for those nights as much as for nights at home. The compact pouch protects it in transit and keeps it from getting crushed at the bottom of a bag. For sleeping on planes: stable darkness, no rigid buckle against the headrest, thermoregulating silk at 35,000 feet.

The night as a foundation.

Not an endured pause — a decision. Maison Noctya exists for people who have chosen to treat their sleep with the same intention as the rest of their life. The night isn't a pause — it's a foundation.

IIICare

Cold water, laid flat, never in a machine.

Mild detergent, away from direct sunlight, do not wring. It's not demanding — it's respect for a material that lasts when you give it the conditions to last. Two minutes of attention for years of nights.

Sebum wears more than washing.

Wash it often, guilt-free. Cold water, a little more mild soap on the area that touches your skin, let it soak two or three minutes, then press it in a towel without rubbing or wringing. Dry flat. Between washes, let it air out instead of putting it away right away. One useful detail: as it dries, sweat turns alkaline, and combined with the aluminium in antiperspirants it weakens the fibre over time. That is where yellow marks come from. After a very warm night, a quick cool-water rinse the same day keeps it from setting in.

A residue, not the fibre.

Silk that comes out of a wash stiff or dull is almost always coated in residue: leftover detergent or hard-water minerals. Give it a cool-water bath with white vinegar, about a quarter cup per gallon, swirl gently for 5 minutes, then rinse. Follow with a soak in cool water and a little mild hair conditioner, 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse very thoroughly: under-rinsed, it stiffens silk instead of softening it. The vinegar smell disappears as it dries. If the fibre itself has been abraded by hard spinning, though, that damage cannot be undone.

Dab, never rub. The rest depends on the stain.

For grease, don't wet it first: sprinkle talcum powder or cornstarch over the stain, leave it for several hours, overnight if it has set, then brush it off gently. The powder draws the oil out of the fibre. For blood, cold water only, never warm: heat sets it permanently. For anything else, a damp cloth with a few drops of mild soap, then a cold rinse and flat drying. One exception: acne treatments containing benzoyl peroxide are bleaching agents, and the pale mark they leave on dyed silk is permanent.

Enzyme-free, pH neutral. Read the label, not the marketing.

The protease enzymes found in most regular detergents are designed to break down proteins, and silk is one. Also avoid oxygen-based stain removers (percarbonate) and, of course, bleach. A wool-and-silk wash works well, and a mild sulphate-free shampoo is a fine backup, as long as you rinse generously. If you machine-wash other silk pieces, a final cool rinse with a splash of white vinegar neutralises any residue.

IVOrdering

The first gesture of the evening.

A mask in its signature pouch is a ritual. The Noctya pouch isn't packaging. It's the first gesture of the evening, and the last of the morning. Designed for storage and travel, in 19 momme mulberry silk, it's part of the experience.

The case, with nothing to add.

The habit, not the price.

Those who use the mask through the first week don't put it down. That's why every Noctya order includes an evening ritual card — not a brochure, a five-step protocol. The mask alone isn't enough: it needs a reason to be there, every night, at the same time. The card creates that.
